About 8th Grade Band . . .
This is the year in which the students start to prepare for performing in the high school marching band. In fact, many 8th grade band members perform with the high school band and color guard during the late summer and early fall.

Emphasis is given during this grade to the performance of more difficult pieces, laying the foundation for a career in music later in life both in high school and in college, if desired.

The experience is one that all participants treasure throughout their school careers and adult life. A close relationship and sense of teamwork is built between band members as they practice and perform.

For further information about the eighth grade band and the middle school band program, contact Ms. Kara Boyd, Middle School Band Director.
