Jazz band allows the participants to broaden their talents and musical
experiences to include pieces played in the 1930's and '40s by Benny
Goodman and Glenn Miller (pieces your great-grandparents would have
enjoyed) as well as pieces from the 1960's and '70's by groups such
as Chicago and Electric Light Orchestra.

These last two groups would have been from the period when your grandparents
were growing up, groups which included both high and low brass and
woodwinds, in addition to the normal percussion and guitars expected
in the period's rock bands.
